Prince William-Kate Middelton Royal wedding : Bishop suspended for Facebook comments

Many times i have warned my friends of what they post in Social networks. My article on Kevin Peterson getting banned for a Twitter update was so popular. Here's another one like that, again from UK.

A bishop who had put a comment meaning that the wedding wont last 7 years has been asked to withdraw from public service until further notice. Later he has apologized and there are efforts to bring him back.

He had been deeply critical of the media reception given to the Royal wedding. Following is some of his comments that was noted "deeply offensive" by church of England.

This will be a good lesson for all those who take Facebook lightly. It's no longer the fun site it used to be. Everyone is now present and active in Facebook from your work colleagues to your nearest Police cops to relatives. So thinking twice can save you from the trouble.

Facebook blog : You will no longer make phone calls or email

Official Facebook blog has a post written by it's Engineer Joel Seligstein  saying you will no longer use phones or email after Facebook introduces the new messaging system.

He further says that there will not be any CC, BCC, Subject lines in the new system. It will be totally free so that it is as fast as you can imagine.

Another feature is that it can send a message as email, IM, text or any medium. You simply have to select which type. It will look like a general inbox that has all types of messages.

The coolest he says is no need of knowing your friends phone number or the email address. Knowing his name would simply connect you to him.  

Do you still say it's not a threat to email?

Facebook recruits 3 Software Engineers of Email service Zenbe

There were lots of arguments to my articles of Facebook email saying Facebook will not be any problem to existing emails like Gmail, Yahoo.


Some commented on my Facebook status quoting Mark Zuckerberg " It's not email". You were right - He said just that - I have that video in my last post.

For all those who says "its not going to be an issue", What do you say about this news about Facebook acquiring talent from the email start up company Zenbe. Here is part of their company blog it self -

 Do you think Mark Zuckerberg recruited this Email experts from Zenbe just to make a messaging system? Isnt it going to be a challenge to ordinary email like Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL as it can replace them as a communication system?

Sri Lanka Reality TV : Catch the wave properly...

It all started with ETV showing American Idol seasons in Sri Lanka - I think way back in early 2000s. Sirasa was the first one to copy it - and they did marvelously well with SIRASA Super Star. 

Sad thing was that every TV Channel copied from their onwards without having any differentiation or positioning. Derana had it, Swarnavahini had a good Comedy Star. Even the state TV channel Rupavahini did reality TV in a truly Sri Lankan way with "SRI LANKAN LIFE".

The latest flop was Swarnawahini Mega Star which had a major scene in the finale. What has happened was that in the grand finale out of the finalists - Parliament MP Dayasiri Jayasekara has been the favourite. They have announced his name as the winner and then announced some one else's name which caused uproar in the spectators who started taking the show to their control.

World cup octopus "Paul" dead

The octopus famed for forecasting winners of Soccer world cup games had been found dead yesterday.

Paul successfully predicted 7 matches in a row that brought lot of love and criticism from Football fans. It would select food from one of two boxes bearing the flags of competing nations.

Pauls best prediction was when it selected Spain over the Netherlands as the winner of the Soccer world cup.

The staff at the German aquarium has told that they were so devastated to find the octopus dead. A normal Octopus lives only around 2 years and thus it's not a big deal for them it seems. But the football fans, specially from the winning nations will be pretty sad - If you are touched, feel free to comment below.

Beyonce not pregnant says her mom Tina

My previous post drew lot of attention and many De (Wait for it) Nied, denied the news. Among them was Beyonce's mom Tina.

My favourite rapper and one of the favourite businessmen is Jay Z. Along with my liking for Beyonce's songs they make my favourite celebrity couple - Making Bonie n Clyde and Crazy in love my all time favourite songs...So the news in US Weekly was really big...

It reported that the 29-year-old pop singer with hits like Crazy in love, Baby Boy, Irreplaceable, Beautiful liar, is pregnant and the pregnancy was a surprise.


"Beyonce was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn't ready to be a mother just yet," the source told the magazine. "She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again."

The web site also quoted sister Solange as saying Beyonce would make "a great mom" and record executive Kevin Lies as saying his rapper pal Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, "has been all about family."

In interviews after her 2008 wedding to the 40-year-old "Empire State of Mind" rapper, Beyonce, known for her chandelier earrings and skimpy skirts, said she would like to have a family but that she had no timeline.

Windows phone 7

This is the latest gadget talk of the time. The reason being the release of Windows phone 7.

When i told the the name "Windows phone 7" everyone was excited. Save your energy guys, It's only an operating system - NOT a phone. (But they are planning to release some phones with the Operating system)

Windows phone 7 is the windows mobile operating system replacing windows mobile 6.5. The big thing is that they have completely changed the look and feel of Windows mobile in order to complete with i phone.

Windows phone 7 will compete with the two biggest mobile platforms Android (Google) and iphone (Apple). It has the look of an iphone and a flexibility of android. I heard an article with Windows phone 7 saying "Daddy's Home" to Android and iphone.

Can i use Windows phone 7? I know its going on your head. Here are the minimum requirements -

• 1GHz processor
• A capacitive 4-point multitouch screen
• A DirectX 9 compatible GPU
• 256MB of RAM and at least 8GB of flash memory
• An accelerometer with compass
• A 5-megapixel camera
• FM radio tuner
• At least six dedicated hardware buttons

A famous apple dude named Stephen Fry has taken his sim out of an iphone and put it in to a WP7 in the Microsoft launch it seems. Just show WP7s' credibility or the money to buy a dude over...

Courtney Cox - David Arquette drama : Can younger guy marriages work???

Having grown up with FRIENDS still regarded one of the best TV shows ever - It was news for us.

Courtney and her husband David has separated while keeping good will and business partnerships. They have a child of 7 year old (Whose god mother is Jeniffer Aniston, a.k.a Rachel Green in Friends). Reports says that they discussed it with the kid on an outing saying "Adults need to separate sometimes..etc".

I heard from my good friend that Her husband was anyway 7 years younger and they had many problems. Even it was news for him that they separated. David has told media that Courtney was like his mom and many other private stuff between them. Apparently he's hooked up with Jasmine Waltz - a waitress shortly after separation.

So guys and girls, question over to you? Can marriages with younger guy really work???
